Clinical experience of microsurgical Extra-Intracranial Arterial Bypass(EIAB) on two cases with middle cerebral artery occlusion.

Abstract
|

|
The authors have experienced EIAB surgery on two cases with middle cerebral artery occlusion. A 47 year-old male had neurological deficits such as slurred speech and the right hemiparesis and another 35 year-old male had the left hemiparesis.
Both cases were completely occluded at genu portion of the middle cerebral artery, confirmed by cerebral angiography.
Neurological improvement was followed within a few days after operation in two cases and moderate increment of collateral cerebral blood flow was demonstrated by postoperative cerebral angiography.
